Minutes for Meeting of NNJM

When: Sunday, May 5, 2019

Where: Angela’s home (71 Becker Avenue, Rochelle Park, NJ)

Who attended: Robert Curtis, Angela Daidone, Bill Holzmann, Juliette Holzmann

Bob called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. Minutes from the February meeting were presented and accepted by unanimous vote.

Local Secretary’s report

  1. Angela reported on testing, which has been going well. She administered the Culture Fair test in March and the Standard test in April. There has been a steady list of applicants for testing. At present, she is not scheduling a next date for spring or summer and will continue in the fall. Franck Mounier has been accepted as a new proctor and will be looking for test site locations in the Morristown area. Membership Chair was not present. In lieu of an updated membership from Stephanie (Gifted Youth Coordinator), Bob will resume those duties with assistance from Jennifer (Mensa parent), who discussed possible additional programs.

Treasurer’s report

Bill presented a financial report which was unanimously approved by committee. He presented the budget proposal for the remainder of 2019, and an update on the Irwin Meit donation for scholarship. Bill also shared that he will reach out to the printer regarding postage costs.

IMprint Editor’s report

Juliette reported that newsletter status has seen no major change.

Webmaster’s report

Bob continues to post the minutes and other materials as needed.

Program Coordinator’s report

Keith was not present. Bob advised he will try to reach out to him again to discuss whether or not he has continued interest in the position.

New Business

  1. Bill is going to check with the County about dates for the August picnic.

  2. Juliette reported that she will be stepping down in the summer, following graduation, as she plans to move out of the area for work.

  3. The next meeting of the Executive Committee has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 11 at 11 a.m. at Van Saun Park, Paramus, with the picnic to follow.

Meeting was adjourned at 1:40 p.m. with Angela setting the motion and Bill seconding.
