Local Secretary’s report
Bob announced that the date of the essay scholarship reading is January 29, 2017 and will be held at Nisha Zoeller’s home. Those interested in judging may also do so via email. Also, Angela’s article and press release about our 2016 scholarship recipient earned a feature story in the local newspaper. It highlighted the essay contest and hopefully will attract more applicants as well as putting the NNJM chapter in a positive light.
Angela scheduled a testing date earlier this month but those who had expressed interest previously in taking the test declined for a variety of reasons. She cancelled the testing date and will reschedule early next year. Angela also will advertise the test in the local papers.
Membership Chair Lynn is discussing with Bob the possibility of getting a more comprehensive and up-to-date email list of members. She also is brainstorming ideas for a winter social, similar to the annual picnic which draws a very nice crowd.
Gifted Youth Coordinator Stephanie has put her efforts temporarily on hold for personal reasons.
Bill presented a financial report which was unanimously approved by committee. He also reported that he received a lovely thank you letter from our scholarship winner, Lexie Soluri.
His efforts to reach the 2015 scholarship winner have gone unanswered.
Imprint Editor’s report
Juliette is looking into prices from other printers for the monthly newsletter.
Bob continues to update the website and add new materials as necessary.
Program Coordinator’s report
Keith was not in attendance.
We set the date for the next meeting as Sunday, February 12, 2017. Of course the date is tentative pending weather, etc .
Angela moved to adjourn the meeting at 1:45 p.m. with Bill seconding the motion.
