November, 2016

November is the eleventh and penultimate month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian Calendars and one of four months with the length of 30 days. November was the ninth month of the ancient Roman calendar. November retained its name (from the Latin novem meaning "nine") when January and February were added to the Roman calendar.

November is the month of the big US election on the 8th. It is also the month in even numbered years that our local group requests nominations for our elected positions of local secretary, assistant local secretary, and treasurer.

The Leonids meteor shower typically reaches its peak around November 17th.
